21st part of the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon (concept): 1.784 kilometers in 14:27 minutes – completed on Thursday, April 14th 2016, in the quarter Flamengo (overall map). The artist Pedro Paulo Domingues (*1950) lives in Rio de Janeiro (more about him).
Why did you choose this part to represent Rio de Janeiro at the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon?
I selected this segment because one can see here two landmarks of the town: the Sugarloaf on one and the Corcovado with the figure of Christ on the other side. And we ran along the Guanabara Bay where the town was founded. The bay is also a landmark of the town.
Your favourite art place? The school Escola de Artes Visuais of the Parque Lage. Because it is a free art school, located in a wooden reservation at the foot of the Corcovado massif.
Your favourite shop in Rio?
I have no favorite shop, I am no big consumer.
Your favourite restaurant in Rio – and what should you order there?
Bar Lagoa. Whenever I go I order Filet mignon à la française. The traditional Bar Lagoa has an informal ambience and is visited by artists of all art directions.
