Why did you choose this part to represent Rio de Janeiro at the First Rio City Aesthetic Marathon?
My name is Maria Gal. Today is April 18th 2016, one day after the first approval of the impeachment of president Dilma. We are in the quarter Leblon, one of the noblest quarters of Rio de Janeiro where 3, 4 years ago many demonstrations took place against the increase of the busfares. In reality it was a demonstration of the people and not directed only against the raise of the fare. It was rather a manifestation against corruption in Brazil, well, there were many reasons for those demonstrations. And yesterday, April 17th 2016, Eduardo Cunha, who has more than 50 indictments because of corruption pending against him, lead the first assembly to initiate of the impeachment against Dilma. In other words: once more democracy and the interest of the people, the mass of the people, were disregarded and particular benefits preferred. That´s what it is like.
